Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain and repair production equipment, including but not limited to: welders and grinders, cranes
  2. Repairs broken parts using hand tools and welding equipment properly in compliance with Company’s safety policies and procedures
  3. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to diagnose problems
  4. Complete work orders as assigned
  5. Complete installation of new equipment and provide other areas of improvement in line with facility’s maintenance plans

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintains a clean work environment
  2. All other duties as assigned by supervisor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Physical abilities: Standing, hearing, and seeing for 10 hours, handling for 6 hours, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and fingering for 5 hours reaching below waist, twisting, and feeling for 2 hours, sitting, climbing, balancing, crawling, reaching over head, and talking for 1 hour. Frequently: standing, kneeling, stretching, reaching, gripping tools or objects and bending at the waist. Regularly: walking, crouching, and twisting while standing. Occasionally: sitting, crawling, and twisting while sitting for 1 hour or less.
  2. Lifting: car parts from 1-50lbs for 10 hours(10-25lbs frequently, 25-50lbs regularly)
  3. Pushing: hand trucks weighing up to 100 lbs to move tools frequently, wrenches weighing up to 10 lbs to tighten bolts
  4. Pulling: 10-25 lbs frequently, 25-50lbs regularly, over 50 lbs occasionally, cables up to 100lbs to pull lines regularly

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Formal education, high school or equivalent required

  2. 2-year Technical Degree in Maintenance field or vocational certificate/training
  3. Knowledge: mechanical skills
  4. Skills: welding and cutting

  5. Mental factors: Decision making and reasoning, planning and scheduling

  6. Preferred: QEW, Ability to speak, understand, and read English proficiently

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Working environment: requires indoor and outdoor work. Exposure to heat and humidity, working at heights regularly, working around moving machinery
  2. Environmental conditions: exposure to welding and burning fumes, odors, dust, gases, and uncomfortable noises from welding and burning, working in hot temperatures regularly, working in cold temperatures occasionally, driving automotive equipment, working with oil and grease, working with vibrations, and working alone occasionally
  3. Hazard exposure: mechanical from tools, electrical from welders, radiant energy from torches

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to line supervisor or work group supervisor

**These conditions can change at any time depending on the assignment

Salary: $30.42 - $37.04, hourly
