What You'll Do:
The Maintenance Master Technician serves as the resort's senior-level technical expert responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex building systems with a primary emphasis on heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) performance. This role ensures that all HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and structural systems operate at peak efficiency to support a safe, comfortable, and reliable environment for guests and staff. In addition to advanced HVAC diagnostics and repairs, the Maintenance Master Technician oversees general facility maintenance, conducts preventive service on critical equipment, and supports the upkeep of exterior property features, including landscape-related systems. This position requires a highly skilled, self-directed professional who can work independently and collaboratively to resolve technical issues, respond to maintenance calls with urgency and accuracy, and consistently deliver an exceptional guest experience. Full-time, year-round position with benefits eligibility.
Position starts at $45.00 - $52.00/hr + DOE.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Respond promptly to routine maintenance requests as well as complex, escalated technical issues requiring advanced troubleshooting.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and other facility infrastructure including commercial kitchen equipment.
• Prioritize work orders based on safety, guest impact, and operational urgency to ensure timely and effective resolution.
• Conduct in-room maintenance calls, accurately assess issues, and deliver professional, guest-focused service that reinforces a positive resort experience.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC units, boilers, pumps, and other high-value equipment to extend lifespan and reduce downtime.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term corrective actions or system upgrades to improve facility reliability.
• Safely and skillfully utilize a wide range of power tools, hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and specialty HVAC equipment to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Track and record all work hours, materials used, and maintenance activities accurately within the resort's work-order or maintenance management system.
• Escalate issues that exceed in-house capacity such as major HVAC failures, structural concerns, or specialty repairs to management promptly and with detailed assessments. • Assist junior technicians by providing technical guidance, demonstrating proper repair techniques, and promoting safe work practices.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with guests and staff, ensuring transparency about repair timelines and maintaining the highest level of hospitality.
• Follow all safety procedures, building codes, and manufacturer guidelines when performing repairs or operating equipment.
What You'll Bring:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or related skilled trades required.
• Formal HVAC certification, trade school completion, or equivalent technical coursework required.
• Additional certifications in plumbing, electrical work, or building systems preferred.
• Good mechanical aptitude, general knowledge of carpentry, heating, electrical, painting, drywall, and finishing preferred.
• Proficient at written and verbal communication in English required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite preferred. • Related hospitality experience preferred.
• Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel required.
• Ability to lift and move 40+ lbs required.
