Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager – PHG, Brussels

What You Will Be Doing:

As Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the maintenance and operational integrity of all hotel facilities. Through a detailed maintenance planning you make sure the maintenance of the hotel building is being taken care of. This pivotal role reports directly and collaborates closely with the General Manager of the hotel.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Manage the overall maintenance of the hotel, ensuring facilities are in optimal condition
Supervise (sub)contractors' execution of repair and maintenance tasks
Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance schedules and priorities
Manage departmental budgets and expenses
Adjust the building management system for comfort, air quality, and temperature control
Procure materials and manage inventory
Provide monthly reports on gas, water, and electricity consumption
Coordinate technical activities with other hotel departments
Oversee safety protocols including IDPBW organisation, Legionella Management, and Comprehensive Risk Assessments

We Value Individuals Who:

Have had previous experience in a hotel environment, preferably as (Assistant) Chief Engineer
Have technical expertise, ideally with a background in electrical engineering
Have knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
Have a hands-on approach with a proactive and positive attitude
Have strong problem-solving and communication skills
Are fluent in English and in French; proficiency in an additional foreign language is an advantage
Are eligible to work and already live in Belgium
