This is where YOU fit in: Navy Inn Bremerton is in need of a Maintenance Manager to answer the call; a known leader who is dedicated to supporting our local Naval community, and operational successes on a day to day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which involve the managing the daily maintenance operations, upkeep, and repair of the facility. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our Military patrons and their families.
So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?
oDevelop, coordinate, and execute short and long range facility planning for conducting preventative maintenance with inventory of maintenance stock and equipment.
oPerforms general carpentry, painting & plumbing tasks involved in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings or equipment.
oFollows all local safety regulations maintaining compliance and OJT of maintenance staff.
oOperates motor vehicle in the performance of the duties.
The Qualifiers:
oMust possess three year of working knowledge and skills in general maintenance practices involving the upkeep of buildings grounds fixtures equipment.
Must possess minimum one year of specialized experience of trade practices associated with air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting etc. Including knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations and basic safe work practices.
oIs required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring or uncomfortable positions.
oFrequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
oWill be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
oMust possess a valid state driver’s license and pass a pre-employment criminal & motor vehicle background check.
HazMat training required within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations

GENERAL EXPERIENCE Three years of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of general maintenance practices involving the upkeep of buildings grounds fixtures equipment etc.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE One year of general maintenance work involving a variety of trade practices associated with such occupations as air conditioning and refrigeration electrical work plumbing carpentry masonry painting etc. Including knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures tools mechanical and electrified equipment chemicals and basic safe work practices supervision of human resources.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Standing stooping bending kneeling climbing and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 50 pounds. A recognized professional certification or license in one trade plumbing HVAC electrical carpentry or painting trade is preferred.
