Job Description

For our location in Erfurt, we are looking for a Technical Maintenance Manager (m/f/d).

The focus of this role is on the technical site leadership and the responsibility for all engineering tasks within a building. You are responsible for leading the technical team, including building a safety culture at the highest level. You ensure high equipment availability for the site and work closely with the European Engineering Team to promote future growth. Additionally, you drive the implementation of network-wide improvement initiatives and the implementation of new standards at your site.

Overall responsibility for the maintenance team as well as all automated sorting and conveyor systems, industrial trucks, and building services equipment.

Ensuring maximum availability of all equipment and implementing modern maintenance approaches such as Condition Based Maintenance (CBM).

Ensuring cross-shift fault resolution on all technical systems.

Implementing all necessary safety standards and a proactive safety culture within the team.

Promoting continuous team development in both hard and soft skills to support the growth of Amazon Operations.

Developing concepts for continuous optimization of all equipment according to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Co-shaping strategic decisions as a member of the site leadership team.

Leading and supporting technical greenfield and brownfield projects.

Planning and managing the maintenance and repair budget for the site.

Evaluating relevant KPIs to analyze technical equipment and internal processes.

Basic Qualifications


- Engineering degree or technician qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field of study.
- Several years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams.
- Multi-skilled in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
- Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably with automated systems such as packaging machines, sorting and conveyor systems.
- Knowledge of modern maintenance concepts (CBM, TPM).
- Very good analytical skills.
- Team player with strong presentation skills for complex topics.
- Good analytical skills combined with a structured and independent working style.
- Fluent German and very good English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in (technical) project management.
- Knowledge of maintenance and building services systems in a logistics center, as well as their maintenance and safety procedures.
- Experience with PLC-based control systems.
