Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Manager to lead our Maintenance & Ground Teams and ensure the property continues to run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

The Maintenance Manager plays an integral role in the day-to-day running of the Resort. In this role, you will oversee a team of 5-10 with whom you will address the maintenance and ground requirements of the resort. You will be required to develop and facilitate preventative maintenance schedules, complete in-depth project planning, deliver reports and insights, plan for future CAPEX improvements, and demonstrate strong people management. It is essential that you are an organized individual who is able to develop procedures and best practices to address all business needs with a focus on health and safety, cost savings, and environmental responsibility.

Key Aspects of the Role:

• Develop preventative maintenance and energy conservation programs.
• Maintain effectivity of these preventative maintenance and energy management programs.
• Oversee the implementation of all property and equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Assign and verify completion of all routine maintenance by scheduling staff to perform the preventative maintenance program and prioritize, plan and assign daily work duties to maintenance staff.
• Inspect work assignments of staff in the department to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner and within specifications.
• Management of outside contractors.
• Ensure that building structures and all mechanical and electrical systems are in a good and safe condition and inform the Regional Chief Engineer and General Manager on a regular basis of the overall condition of the building structures and related systems.
• Ensure that the maintenance team uses equipment safely and efficiently to avoid accidents.
• Manage all expenses within the allotted budget.
• Recommend cost-effective solutions to Maintenance Manager to maintain building structures and related equipment and systems.
• Conduct and document training, performance management, and development of the team, including employee reviews and disciplinary measures as required.
• Educate team on safety requirements, engineering policies and other company policies and standards.
• Maintain Compliance in alignment with all company, governmental, and legal requirements.
• Champion Workplace Health and Safety
• Ensure the work area is maintained clean, safe and organized.
• Order and stock the maintenance supplies to avoid shortages and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• A Trade qualification (in mechanical, electrical or plumbing) as well as experience in property maintenance.
• Comprehensive understanding of building systems and maintenance operations, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire, and safety systems.
• Highly computer literate, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook) and other relevant systems such as Opera and HubOS as well as the ability to pick up new programs efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare professional presentations, reports, and project management charts.
• Sound knowledge of labour laws, workplace health and safety standards, and relevant to the applicable state and Australian legislation.
• Excellent time management, communication and people skills.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative, multitask, manage time, and manage people in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work 7 day rotating roster
• Strong personal integrity.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of team members.
• Flexible and able to embrace and respond effectively to change.
• Success oriented with an eye for detail.
• Hold a current driver’s license.
