Job Description

Your next opportunity:

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this is a key site-based leadership role with genuine ownership: you'll drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), embed a strong planned and preventative maintenance regime, and build a high-performing maintenance team that keeps plant reliable, safe and cost-effective.

Your day will involve:

  • Developing and overseeing the maintenance strategy, ensuring planned and corrective work is scheduled and executed across all fixed and mobile plant
  • Driving OEE improvement by tracking availability, performance and quality metrics and implementing corrective actions
  • Leading a continuous improvement culture within the maintenance team, embedding sustainable process and asset improvements
  • Controlling the site's R&M budget and developing CAPEX business cases where investment supports safety, compliance or reliability
  • Leading major maintenance planning and shutdown execution, coordinating resources and contractors to minimise downtime
  • Managing and developing the site maintenance team, including coaching and root cause analysis of repeat or high-risk failures
  • Maintaining a strong safety framework across maintenance activity, including work permits, SWMS and contractor compliance
  • Driving data-led maintenance through the site's CMMS, ensuring accurate records and KPI reporting
  • Liaising with the Quarry Manager to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements and Boral's Safety, Environmental and Quality Standards

What are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent) preferred
  • Demonstrated maintenance supervision/management experience in quarrying, mining or heavy industrial environments
  • Sound understanding of OEE principles and continuous improvement methodologies, with a track record of translating them into measurable results
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms (e.g. Maximo, Oracle or similar) and Microsoft Office
  • Proven root cause analysis and structured problem-solving capability
  • Experience scoping and delivering capital projects that improve safety, reliability or asset performance
  • Strong track record managing and developing maintenance teams as well as in contractor management
