We’re looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our WDC team in Whangārei. You’ll lead our internal planned and ordered maintenance crews, manage our external routine and cyclic subcontractors and work closely with the Contract Manager helping us ensure levels of service, programming and delivery of work and compliance are to a high standard.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
Ensure levels of service, programming and delivery of work, quality, safety, RAMM use and claiming, environmental compliance, customer interaction, KPIs and KRAs are all met to agreed contract standards
Carry out regular inspections and audits of physical works, as well as subcontractors’ office-based processes and systems
Oversee financial performance for the maintenance department, including monthly claiming and end-of-month accounting
Take overall responsibility for plant, equipment and materials managed by the department
Work closely day-to-day with the Contract Manager on financial, contractual and operational matters as they arise

Daily interaction with internal teams and provide clear direction and support
Lead fortnightly planning and delivery meetings with routine and cyclic subcontractors
Carry out monthly quality audits of completed work
Partner with the Contract Manager to continuously improve the performance of our internal teams and subcontractors
Provide accurate and timely information to the client on internal and subcontractor performance
Support our people and subcontractors with variations and changes to scope

Solid experience in the infrastructure / civil / maintenance industry
Diploma in Civil Engineering (Level 6) or similar qualification
Demonstrated experience leading maintenance teams and managing subcontractors and suppliers
Strong planning and organisational skills, with the confidence to address issues early and constructively
The ability to support, coach and bring out the best in others – both within your team and across subcontractors
Clear and confident communication skills, with a focus on collaboration, safety and quality
A positive, solutions-focused mindset and a genuine passion for your work
Extensive RAMM knowledge and understanding of asset management tools and systems
