Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Milton Keynes to assist with the appointment of a Maintenance Manager, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £22.21 - £29.00 per hour

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that council properties are maintained to required health & safety and statutory compliance standards. The role involves leading responsive repair services, managing contractors, overseeing compliance programmes, and delivering maintenance projects while ensuring high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all properties meet health & safety and statutory compliance requirements
  • Act as the responsible person for all Health & Safety matters within the service
  • Lead and manage the delivery of responsive repairs and maintenance services
  • Oversee contractor performance, procurement, and contract management
  • Manage statutory compliance programmes including gas, electrical, fire safety, asbestos, and water systems
  • Conduct risk assessments and determine repair priorities based on reports

Qualification:

  • HNC / City & Guilds in Building Maintenance, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Safety and Health (or equivalent)

Essentials

  • Extensive experience in building maintenance and statutory compliance
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and risk management
  • Proven experience in project and contract management
  • Experience managing contractors and delivering KPI-driven services
  • Ability to analyse data and support strategic planning

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Standard DBS
