Job Description

As a Maintenance Manager you will ensure continued operations of our metal processing facility in Talladega, AL, along with assisting and travelling to additional facilities within the area. The Maintenance Manager is also responsible for driving improved performance with regard to safety, quality, throughput, cost and reliability. This position will also involve developing and leading a maintenance team proactively addressing issues and activities.

Every day as a Maintenance Manager you will...

  • Advocate for safety and changes to programs to increase quality and productivity through collaboration with other departments.
  • Organize and assign shop floor maintenance duties including day-to-day work assignments, 5S management, and Preventative Maintenance (PMs) to appropriate maintenance members.
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs such as PM completion, WO execution, downtime, technical availability, etc.
  • Support maintenance techs in the troubleshooting and resolution of complex failures.
  • Prevent problem reoccurrence by implementing and tracking corrective actions.
  • Communicate results to team members and upper management.
  • Oversee and manage maintenance budget and capital projects.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI and IATF16949 regulations.
  • Mentor, train, and develop associates to increase their technical and organizational skill sets.

To thrive in this role, you must...

  • Have prior Maintenance Manager work experience. Associate degree in a technical field or Bachelor of Engineering preferred.
  • 1-2 years in a maintenance engineering position with Bachelor Degree or 5 years of hands-on maintenance
  • Be proactive and look for areas of opportunity.
  • Have high technical skills including the ability to troubleshoot complex hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Support others to accomplish goals.
  • Look for ways to continuously improve our processes.

Processing:

Within our 3.8 million square feet of building space we house: 35 slitting lines, ten cut-to-length lines, five oscillate slit lines, one mechanical blanking line, one laser blanking line, one edge conditioning line, and one perforating line. We also provide leveling, stenciling, lube application and full inspection of material for surface quality, including critical inspection of Class A automotive. The metal types we process include carbon, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper.

Material Storage, Packaging & Transport:

Each plant location is strategically located to provide JIT warehousing and delivery service to the automotive, appliance, industrial products and beverage can industry. Our unique packaging and material handling techniques improve coil handling efficiency and reduce coil damage. All of our facilities are equipped to ship and receive material by truck, and most are equipped to ship and receive by rail.
