Wicehtowak Frontec Services (WFS) is a partnership between George Gordon Developments Ltd.

(GGDL) and ATCO Frontec Ltd. The majority Indigenous-owned company provides camp and support services for remote workforce housing projects. WFS is committed to providing opportunities for employment, skills development, subcontracting and local businesses.

Under the direction and leadership of the Lodge Manager, Wicehtowak Frontec Services is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team in Jansen, SK. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for directing all “hands on” maintenance activities while ensuring safe working practices, hold safety meetings monthly and maximum productivity from the maintenance staff tasks to maintain a 24/7 facilities operation.

Where We Work and Live:

The Jansen Discovery Lodge is a workforce housing facility in support of the BHP Jansen potash mine. The camp is located 155 kilometers east of Saskatoon, SK. Our positions work on rotations. Accommodation and meals during your work rotations are provided by the company

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction to the maintenance staff in the maintenance and repairs to structural, mechanical, utility, and electrical systems including Commercial and Residential Laundry equipment
  • Coordinate and direct maintenance staff members in the maintenance and repairs of building interiors and exteriors including but not limited to: repairs of finishing, ceilings, flooring and roofing; appliances including stoves, refrigerators, water tanks, recreational electronics, Life safety Fire equipment, all kitchen equipment, Sports equipment, parking lot Water Treatment Plant Backup Generators and washing machines
  • Ensure that maintenance technicians and trades are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost -effective manner.
  • Communicate regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues to the lodge Manager.
  • Assist with hiring of maintenance personnel
  • Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians
  • Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department
  • Hold and document all toolbox talks for each shift, attend all Monthly Safety Committee meetings
  • Ensure that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures
  • Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Be available to immediately respond to all critical and/or safety related maintenance concerns
  • Ensure job specific and safety training of subordinate employees
  • Train and direct all department workers, ensuring compliance with company and client safety requirements
  • Ensure staff compliance with all client and ASL operating policies and procedures
  • Continually review services with the object of reducing cost and increasing productivity without loss of standard
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and rotations to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained
  • Monitor the use of inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiate reordering when necessary
  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards
  • Assists in preparing department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school, College or University degree
  • 5 years’ experience or more in a maintenance management role.
  • Team Lead in similar functions and size
  • SAP experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft products – excel, word, PowerPoint etc.
  • Oracle experience preferred
