Maintenance Manager Durban

R58,000-R62,500 CTC

Seeking a dynamic and proactive Maintenance Manager who possess a high level of technical skill, strong leadership qualities, and a solutions-driven mindset. You will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all maintenance-related activities, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance across company assets and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the planning and execution of all maintenance projects and related activities.
• Supervise and coordinate labour teams on all maintenance operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
• Oversee maintenance for both the yard and administrative offices, ensuring seamless operations and upkeep.
• Identify maintenance needs and formulate annual budgets aligned to operational priorities.
• Ensure strict budgetary control and manage expenditure within the approved annual maintenance budget.
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive dock maintenance schedules.
• Prepare and maintain daily progress reports on all ongoing maintenance activities.
• Conduct regular site inspections to proactively detect, report, and resolve issues.
• Ensure maintenance schedules for all company assets are current and effectively implemented.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset registers and ensure compliance certifications are valid and accessible.

Requirements

• A relevant trade qualification and/or tertiary education will be highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in a technical maintenance role, with a solid track record of leadership.

• Experience in marine maintenance environments will be a significant advantage.
• Prior experience in crane maintenance is strongly preferred.
• Must hold a valid, unendorsed drivers license.
• Strong administrative capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality control and meticulous attention to detail.
