- Notify the supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions, corrective actions taken, quality issues, or needed supplies.
- Perform repair, rebuilding, or overhaul work on manufacturing or service equipment using blueprints, manuals, written instructions, or verbal instructions.
- Make repair parts when parts are not commercially available or in stock.
- Plan setups and operate typical machine shop tools to produce parts to required tolerances and company specifications.
- Use standard machinist hand tools, measuring tools, and machine shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Set up and test production equipment under power, identify mechanical difficulties, trace issues to the source, and correct problems.
- Instruct and direct maintenance trainees as assigned.
- May operate equipment during relief periods.
- Notify supervisor or manager of any potential safety hazards.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
