Make your mark while you grow your career! Horizon Bitumen Maintenance is looking for a Maintenance Lead! Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for the supervision and development of planning and schedulers in the Maintenance organization. You will work together with staff from across the organization to ensure cross functional teams associated with your business unit are aligned and creating value. Internal groups will include but not be limited to Bitumen Production Operations, Reliability, Asset Integrity, SCM, and Finance.

  • Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta - Horizon Bitumen Production
  • Shift schedule: 4 x 3, 10-hour shifts (Monday – Thursday)
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supervise maintenance planners and schedulers and drive consistency
  • Drive safely with the maintenance team and contractors
  • Review, update, approve, and keep procedures compliant
  • Create and manage the maintenance budget estimates for planned and scheduled work
  • Work with support groups to ensure the work is planned and scheduled to achieve reliability for each business unit

What You Bring to the Role:

  • 5 to 10 + years of plant maintenance experience with 5 years of leadership experience in planning and scheduling required (must have the ability to influence and guide team members in achieving a common goal of working together)
  • Minimum high school diploma is required, along with journeyman (mechanical or E/I) certificate or a technical degree
  • Exceptional problem-solving skill with proven analytical abilities enabling the consideration of details and complexities of issues, while still driving results
  • Technical ability to complete administrative obligations in a timely manner with the programs and software provided (including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite of programs Maximo, Primavera, and Power BI)
  • Demonstrated success utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools
