We are looking for a qualified person to fill the position of Maintenance Lead. This person will be responsible for farm maintenance and plays a critical role in overall farm operations.Aggressively manage all breakdown maintenance requirements to successful conclusions
Schedule and direct (via the department’s work order system) the day-to-day activities of the maintenance mechanics to achieve safe, timely, and satisfactory work
Evaluate the effectiveness of manufacturing equipment functionality and schedule necessary repairs or suggests changes in operating methods on order to improve plant operations
Develop, implement, and maintain the department’s preventative maintenance procedures
Oversee work in progress by outside contractors to determine adherence to plans and specifications
Track, measure and document the performance of the maintenance mechanics on an individual basis
Lead, develop, and motivate the maintenance mechanics in the areas of processing, facility and utility equipment troubleshooting and repair
Job Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent (required); with at least 6 years of industrial maintenance experience or advanced education in electrical, mechanical, or electronics engineering
3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment requiring knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, industrial electrical and mechanical systems and maintenance and process controls and equipment
Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives
Ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction
Strong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skills
Ability to build strong trusted working relationships with internal and external business customers and executive level management
Basic computer literacy with the ability to do basic statistical analysis
Ability to communicate factual information and provide direction
Experience working in a 24/7 operation and working on a rotating shift preferred (8 hour rotating shift position - could work holidays, weekends or mid-nights) preferred
Willingness to work extended hours when necessary
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Strong commitment to safety with the demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve safety and productivity goals
Physical Requirements:
Work with chemicals, such as detergents and disinfectants
Standing for extended periods of time (6 hours)
Grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrists
Lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50lbs
Bend and stoop repetitively throughout shift
Prolonged exposure to dry and dusty environments
Work Environment:
Routinely work 5 days a week plus occasional weekends and holidays
Routine handling and interacting with live poultry
Ongoing presence of farm related smells or odors
Climate exposure both hot and cold
Working in damp and/or wet environment
Working in a loud/noisy environment
