The Maintenance Industrial Electrician-Mechanic
is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical and mechanical systems throughout the manufacturing facility. This role supports production by responding to equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and helping minimize downtime across plant machinery and related systems.
This is a hands-on maintenance role requiring a strong background in industrial electrical and mechanical systems, including equipment operating at up to 480V, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, controls, and production machinery. The ideal candidate can independently diagnose equipment problems, read electrical and mechanical drawings, complete maintenance documentation, and respond quickly when production equipment is down
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance, electrical maintenance, or electro-mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
- Experience working with industrial equipment up to 480V required.
- Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuits, including AC and DC control circuits, analog signals, and related control components.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and machine safety checks.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems for work orders, maintenance records, and equipment history.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- NJ Boiler License preferred but not required.
- PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
- Flexibility to work overtime, respond to equipment breakdowns, and support production needs outside the regular shift when required.

Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working around production equipment.
- Ability to work with hand tools and maintenance equipment throughout the shift.
- Ability to access machinery and equipment for inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Comfortable working around active production machinery, electrical equipment, mechanical components, and industrial conditions.
- Ability to support extended hours and respond to equipment breakdowns as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot Electrical Systems: Diagnose and repair electrical circuits and components, including systems ranging from 480VAC to 30VAC, 24VDC to millivolt signals, and analog circuits.
- Troubleshoot Mechanical Systems: Diagnose mechanical issues involving bearings, valves, gauges, switches, filters, wiring, and other machine components.
- Support Pneumatic & Hydraulic Systems: Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic components used throughout production equipment.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections, maintenance checks, lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and component replacement to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
- Repair Production Equipment: Dismantle equipment as needed, identify defective or worn components, repair or replace parts, and test machinery to verify proper operation.
- Interpret Technical Documentation: Use electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, operational manuals, and technical documentation to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Support Equipment Improvements: Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, production efficiency, and process performance and communicate recommendations to the Maintenance team.
- Manage Maintenance Work Orders: Use the CMMS system to document completed work, equipment issues, repairs, and follow-up requirements.
- Complete Safety Checks: Perform required machine safety inspections and follow established maintenance and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain Shift Continuity: Document and communicate equipment conditions, completed repairs, unresolved issues, and continuing maintenance needs between shifts.
- Support Production Continuity: Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide timely maintenance support to keep production operating efficiently.
- Maintain Maintenance Standards: Keep the maintenance work area clean and organized while following GMP, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
