As a Maintenance Helper, you will assist Maintenance Technicians in repairing, installing, and maintaining equipment, building and grounds. Perform such tasks as directed by Team Lead, Manager or other authorized person, including, but not limited to, painting, cleaning, snow removal, yard work, having company vehicles maintained or repaired, performing errands, etc. Perform supervised work on facilities, equipment, systems, and machines, replacing defective parts.

Responsibilities

  • May remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
  • Paints machines, equipment, or physical structures.
  • Patches or replaces plaster or plasterboard and paints walls, ceilings, and floors.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with maintenance, repair, installing, fabricating, adjusting, rebuilding, etc.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintain records for fire prevention and extinguishing equipment, lifting equipment, etc.
  • Using Maintenance vehicle, pick up and deliver materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Perform janitorial duties in the absence of the janitor
  • May be assigned to other departments
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Prepare conference or training rooms for meetings as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • Recognize operating irregularities, safety hazards and notify proper personnel to correct
  • Works safely at ALL times and complies with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed by Team Lead, Manager other authorized person.

Must Have:

  • 6 months of previous maintenance training or education
  • Experience with mechanical methods and procedure
  • Ability to demonstrate good troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good communications skills
  • Willing to do a variety of different jobs
  • A valid agency issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record (this includes no moving violations within the last 12 months, no "2 point" violations within the last 3 years, and no DUI's within the last 7 years)

Pay Range:

$16.81 - $25.21

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
