Located in the heart of Melbourne’s vibrant entertainment and arts precinct, the hotel is an architecturally striking landmark—recognised as the city’s first cross-laminated timber build—blending sustainability with contemporary design. With 220 spacious studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive maintenance professional to join our Maintenance team as a Handy Person at Adina Hotel Melbourne Southbank.

You'll help keep our hotels operating at their best by maintaining safe, reliable and welcoming environments for guests and team members. Through proactive problem solving and technical expertise, you'll play an important role in supporting every guest experience.

Working across the hotel, you'll help ensure our facilities continue to operate efficiently while maintaining the high standards our guests expect.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance across hotel facilities and equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimise disruption to guests and hotel operations.
• Inspect hotel facilities to identify maintenance requirements, safety hazards and opportunities for improvement.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance tasks in accordance with operational priorities.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe, clean and organised condition.
• Liaise with hotel departments to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal impact on the guest experience.
• Accurately record completed maintenance works and report outstanding issues as required.
• Follow workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and relevant legislative standards.

Skills & Experience

• Passion for maintaining safe, functional and well-presented hotel facilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
• Ability to diagnose maintenance issues and determine appropriate solutions.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across hotel departments.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety, risk management and safe work practices.
• Flexibility to respond to operational priorities, including after-hours call-outs or weekend work where required.
• Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, trade services or a similar environment preferred.
• Ability to safely operate tools, equipment and maintenance machinery.
• General knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance and basic repair techniques.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism.

Qualifications, Certifications & Licenses

• Current White Card (where required).
• Workplace Health & Safety training is advantageous.
• Trade qualification in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration or a related trade is advantageous.
• Relevant trade licence (where required).
