The Role

As a Maintenance Handyman, you will play a vital role in ensuring that day-to-day maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard. You will be responsible for various maintenance duties across our Athens properties and should ideally reside in Athens.

This is a flexibly scheduled 7-day cover role with two days off per week. Standard hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, though shifts may rotate based on business needs. The role is primarily hands-on, with most time spent on-site, while some administrative work is also required and must be appropriately managed.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Maintenance and Repairs

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the property is in excellent condition.

  • Handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs.

  • Respond promptly to guest complaints or maintenance requests.

  • Oversee contractors for major repairs, renovations, or equipment installations.

  • Manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and ensure tools are in safe working condition.

• Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and conduct regular inspections.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance logs.

  • Assist in testing emergency systems and propose energy-saving improvements.

• Teamwork and Communication

  • Work closely with the Ops and housekeeping teams to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Support operational projects and train team members on minor technical issues.

  • Coordinate with the GM on budgets and timelines for larger maintenance projects.

Our 5-star candidate has:

• Completed vocational training in a skilled trade.

• Proven experience in performing routine and preventive maintenance to maintain property standards.

• Fundamental carpentry, painting, and furniture repair skills. Basic understanding of domestic appliances and their maintenance.

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including fire safety protocols, and experience conducting regular inspections.

• Competence in maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance logs.

• Responsiveness to handle reactive maintenance tasks as needed.

• Strong collaboration, communication and project management skills.

• Basic communication skills in both Greece and English.

• Nice to have: a valid driving license.
