Role: Maintenance Group Leader

Shift: 2nd shift

Role Objective: We're looking for a maintenance leader who does more than fix machines — someone who builds team capability, drives accountability, and keeps production running smoothly under pressure. If you thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment and know how to bring out the best in a technical team, this role is for you.

What does your day look like?

  • Lead and direct maintenance technicians across production, PM, and downtime events
  • Assign work, set priorities, and hold the team accountable to completion
  • Organize and drive troubleshooting during equipment failures — calmly and decisively
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotic, and automated systems
  • Use PLC software to navigate logic, monitor I/O, and diagnose equipment faults
  • Escalate appropriately to Controls, Engineering, Tooling, or vendors when needed
  • Ensure full compliance with LOTO, safety requirements, and maintenance standards
  • Drive root cause analysis on recurring failures and implement permanent fixes
  • Review downtime trends to identify equipment reliability improvements
  • Develop technicians through coaching and hands-on troubleshooting support
  • Identify training gaps across PLC, robotics, electrical, and mechanical skills
  • Communicate equipment status and shift issues clearly to management and other shifts

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • PLC troubleshooting — connect, navigate logic, monitor I/O, identify faults
  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, and safety circuits
  • Proven ability to lead people and coordinate troubleshooting
  • Calm, sound decision-making under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, Studio 5000)
  • FANUC robots — teach pendant, alarm recovery, basic programming
  • HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks
  • Prior leadership or supervisory role in industrial maintenance
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action experience
  • Technical degree, industrial cert, or equivalent training

What Leadership Looks Like Here

The Maintenance Group Leader isn't just the strongest technician on shift — they're the one who makes the whole team stronger. When a downtime event hits, you step back, assess the situation, assign responsibilities, coordinate resources, and drive recovery.

Lead through your team. Step in with advanced technical support when they need it. Build accountability, develop skills, and make the maintenance group better every week.

What is in it for YOU?

As part of the Metalsa team, you will benefit from great compensation and benefits package!

  • Excellent Benefits Plan!
  • Medical, dental, vision, prescription insurance
  • Paid Short-Term Disability & Long-Term Disability Coverage
