Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by insuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

As a lead of an assigned team of maintenance technicians, accomplish through your team all required daily maintenance, repairs & PM’s of the production process equipment / machinery / systems in your assigned area. Including but not limited to the following specifics:

  • Lead team members in on-time setup / startup of production lines & support systems

  • Lead / guide team members in monitoring & required adjustments of process equipment to meet or exceed the Tyson standards / maintenance goals

  • Respond to your area production calls for maintenance, accessing needs, assigning appropriate techs / responses to resolve issues to minimize down time

  • Assist supervision in monitoring your assigned technicians workmanship, performance, quality of repair methods, while coaching, guiding & training in best practices

  • Perform the assigned lead SAP PM work orders and scheduled activity during shift

  • Assist Supervisor in daily prioritizing / expediting / completion of the SAP PM work orders assigned to your team of technicians

  • Guide & lead your team initiating inspections, creation of notifications / work orders and follow up of required repairs

  • Record all your teams significant maintenance activity in the maintenance daily log communicating follow up requirements with supervision / leads of oncoming shift

  • Work with supervision in creating an atmosphere of teamwork, cooperation and balancing of work load among team members

  • Set / maintain high standards of performance for yourself & team in productivity, quality workmanship, initiative & integrity

  • Lead safety meetings and assure team works safely within all Tyson policies for safety, hygiene, HACCP, OSHA, EPA & ethics

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 3 months seniority.

  • Must have 5 attendance points or less. The Team Member will be required to return to an available line production position if the Team Member accumulates more than 5 points.

  • Must have no written warnings / suspension within 3 months.

  • Must have basic computer skills

  • Must be able to communicate and work well with others.

  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, 4 shifts on & 4 shifts off.

  • Must have good written and verbal communications skills.

  • Demonstrated high level of mechanical / electrical / hydraulic / pneumatic skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance & repairs on process equipment in assigned area.

  • Demonstrated initiative / high level performance in completion of maintenance activities.

  • Ability to lead, coach, guide & teach other team members in maintenance duties.

  • Must provide own small tools.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
