About the Role:

This role will be to support the team with labouring duties associated with general maintenance activities, to ensure the aged care home is always looking and operating at its very best.

  • Work as part of a dynamic team to provide reactive and planned preventive maintenance

  • Work to establish best practice and maintain homes to the highest standard

  • Working in a Busy team environment with no day the same

  • Working alongside contractors where relevant, ensuring all work carried out to compliance requirements

  • Carrying out General maintenance and repairs; this may include patching & painting, replacing globes and all aspects of basic building maintenance

  • Ensuring all paperwork, documentation and system processes are adhered to

  • Gardening: Maintain lawns, gardens, and outdoor areas. Create an inviting atmosphere through landscaping.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role, aged care preferable but not necessary

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail & excellent communication skills

  • A current NSW driver's license

  • Computer skills

  • Ability to interact with the elderly residents on a day to day basis

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid RSL LifeCare Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to commencing employment with RSL LifeCare.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
