CEDA is seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet maintenance operations within our Pressure & Vacuum division in Fort McMurray. The ideal candidate is operationally focused while also able to think ahead, identify improvements and understand the broader needs of the business.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the maintenance team, including scheduling, training, performance coaching, and day-to-day operational guidance
  • Oversee maintenance operations for a fleet of commercial vehicles and specialized industrial equipment, ensuring reliability, safety with minimal downtime
  • Monitor fleet performance, utilization, and operating costs to maximize efficiency and control expenses
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including DOT standards, inspection programs, and company safety policies
  • Analyze fleet data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improved reliability, efficiency, and cost savings
  • Manage vehicle lifecycle planning including fleet replacement, procurement, and asset acquisition strategies
  • Develop and manage maintenance budget and forecast
  • Work closely with operations, shop leadership, finance, and external service providers to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure strong fleet performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification or Transportation, Industrial, or Maintenance Management degree is preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in commercial vehicle maintenance or fleet operations
  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing technicians or maintenance teams considered an asset
  • Experience working with pressure & vacuum equipment such as vacuum trucks, hydrovacs, pressure trucks, or service trucks is considered an asset
  • Experience managing medium to heavy-duty truck fleets, with a strong understanding for highway truck transport operations
  • Experience managing budgets and financial forecasting
  • Experience working with fleet maintenance systems, telematics, inspection tracking, and asset management tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and fleet performance data analysis. You’ve got the ability to make pivot tables, build tracking sheets & financial business cases, and financial analysis
