We’re looking for a Maintenance Fitter / Fitter Welder to help keep our mobile and fixed plant running safely, reliably, and ready for the work ahead. Based in our workshop and reporting to the Department Manager - Workshop, you’ll carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs that help our crews and customers deliver good work on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, backs themselves to solve problems, and knows that safety comes first. Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Carry Out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on mobile and fixed plant and machinery.

  • Use workshop tools and equipment safely, correctly, and effectively.

  • Follow safety, environmental, and quality processes, and speak up when something does not look right.

  • Contribute to pre-starts, tailgates, and safety meetings, and report incidents, near misses, and hazards.

  • Work closely with the team to deliver quality work on time, within budget, and keep the workshop clean and organised.

  • NZQA trade qualification in your relevant trade, along with proven industry experience.

  • Minimum Class 1 Drivers Licence - Class 2 Drivers Licence preferred.

  • A strong commitment to safety, wellbeing, and doing the job right first time.

  • A practical, proactive approach with good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.

  • A reliable, respectful, team-focused style with the ability to build strong working relationships and support others.
