Your Role

We’re looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join our established site-based maintenance team at Clontarf. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, fault finding, and working with mechanically simple but ageing equipment.

If you’re calm under pressure, logically minded, and enjoy figuring out why something broke – not just fixing it – we’d love to hear from you.

This role is primarily focused on breakdown response and mechanical fault finding across a manufacturing site that has been operating for decades. The machinery is largely non‑electronic and relies on strong mechanical fundamentals and critical thinking.

You’ll work closely with operators and the wider maintenance team to diagnose issues, restore production, and ensure follow‑up actions are properly documented and completed.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and resolve mechanical breakdowns in a safe, efficient manner
  • Fault find across predominantly pneumatic systems, with some hydraulics and general mechanical work
  • Gather information from operators and line owners to diagnose issues accurately
  • Apply logical, step‑by‑step problem solving to identify root causes
  • Carry out follow‑up work after temporary repairs and ensure jobs are properly closed out
  • Use a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to record and manage work
  • Proactively learn how production lines operate to improve fault diagnosis

Our Benefits

  • Up to $1,000 annually to cover private health extras gap costs
  • Exclusive discounts on DuluxGroup products and partner offers
  • Stay active anytime, anywhere through our partnership with Fitness Passport
  • 20 weeks paid parental leave (primary carers) and 2 weeks partner leave from day one
  • Market leading learning, development and career pathways
  • Access to our Wellbeing Hub and full EAP support
  • Recognition programs that celebrate your impact

What you'll bring

You’re a trade qualified Maintenance Fitter who enjoys getting to the bottom of problems. You don’t need experience with the latest automation or electronics – what matters most is your ability to think critically and explain your approach.

We’re open to a range of experience levels. Whether you’re earlier in your career or highly experienced, if you can clearly demonstrate your problem‑solving approach, we want to talk to you.

  • Trade qualification as a Maintenance Fitter
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Logical, calm approach to problem solving
  • Ability to clearly explain what happened, why it happened, and how you fixed it
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (any industry)
  • Pneumatic and/or hydraulic fault‑finding experience
  • Exposure to CMMS systems (e.g. MEX or similar – training provided)
