Job Description

Profile: The Maintenance Expediter is responsible for supporting maintenance and operations teams during equipment breakdowns, emergency response events, and high-priority repairs. This role serves as the central coordination point for obtaining and delivering the parts, tools, specialty equipment, contractor support, and other resources needed to safely restore equipment and recover production flow. The Maintenance Expediter works closely with maintenance supervisors, technicians, planners, storeroom personnel, vendors, and operations leadership to remove barriers, accelerate repair activities, and minimize downtime.

Essential Functions: The Maintenance Expediter within AEX requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to teamwork. Major duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with the maintenance supervisor and superintendents during equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance events to support rapid recovery efforts.
  • Source and expedite critical repair parts, materials, and consumables required to restore equipment operation.
  • Coordinate the availability and delivery of tools, specialty equipment, rental assets, and contractor resources.
  • Work closely with maintenance supervisors, technicians, operations personnel, and supply chain teams to remove barriers to execution.
  • Communicate resource status, delivery timelines, and potential delays to affected stakeholders.

General duties for the Maintenance Expediter include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor ongoing breakdowns and high-priority maintenance activities to identify resource needs.
  • Coordinate with storeroom, purchasing, vendors, and external suppliers to secure materials and services.
  • Track and document the status of parts orders, equipment rentals, contractor support, and other critical resources.
  • Assist in maintaining emergency response readiness by identifying gaps in spare parts, tools, and equipment availability.
  • Participate in outage reviews and continuous improvement activities to improve response effectiveness and reduce future delays.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical or electrical background obtained through technical training and field experience
  • Competent in CMMS functionality and its purpose
  • Microsoft Office and Project knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use of CAD software
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with proven ability to influence others and manage multiple priorities
