Job Description

  • Maintains preventive maintenance for all kitchen equipment, machinery and electrical equipment.
  • Maintains inventory of parts and material for electrical, HVAC, and kitchen equipment.
  • Performs maintenance and repair functions on major system breakdowns, which includes diagnosing, trouble shooting, repairing or replacing.
  • Schedules operative and regular preventative maintenance of all HVAC and refrigeration and kitchen equipment.
  • Preforms preventive and regular maintenance of all equipment.
  • Adheres to the operations procedures as required by all state and local codes.
  • Maintains a log of all equipment status and inventory of parts and material necessary for repairs.
  • Monitors, trouble-shoots and responds to facilities work orders using the project management system.
  • Maintains all mechanical and cosmetic items in guest rooms and public areas.
  • Monitors work load, and advises supervisor of work overload.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area in the Engineering Shop.
  • Prepares daily work forms.
  • Routinely inspects all lighting throughout the Hotel and Casino, identifying potential problems, and resolving same.
  • Responds to maintenance requests and house calls.
  • Maintains Pool and Spa facilities as assigned.
  • Ensures a maximum level of service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.
  • Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations and controls of the company.
  • General Maintenance II is required to assist all specialty craft technicians as needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

High school diploma or equivalent

List advanced degrees, special training, or specific professional licenses required for this position:

Commercial Kitchen Equipment Certification

Universal Refrigeration Certification or Universal Refrigeration License

Commercial HVAC License

Commercial Plumbing License

**Must have minimal knowledge of plumbing, electrical and air conditioning maintenance. Occupationally significant combination of Vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training and/or on-the-job training preferred.

Examples of basic knowledge is included but not limited to the following.

Electrical

  • The ability to use all electrical meters (examples but not limited to volt meter, amp meter and probe)
  • Replace lighting fixtures including but not limited to bulbs, ballast, wall sockets, switches, dimmers and sconces.
  • Required to pull wire for electrical runs GM’s will not make final connections on any power source that the power cannot be terminated/turned off.

Plumbing

  • Required to change, replace and repair all plumbing including fixtures, faucets, toilets, urinals, sinks, hoses, and gaskets, wax rings, and handle all basic leaks, ruptured lines associated with plumbing.

HVAC

  • Required to have a basic knowledge of the HVAC system and the equipment locations of all HVAC units, must understand demonstrate and maintain proficiency with all HVAC controls for maintaining comfort levels throughout the property.
  • HVAC General Maintenance duties include but not limited to the following change belts, filters, clean coils, relays, heat strips capacitors pumps and motors.

Kitchen Equipment

  • Required to have a basic knowledge of natural/lp gas kitchen equipment and its operation.
  • Required to have a basic knowledge of electrical kitchen equipment and its operation.
  • Required to trouble shoot all kitchen equipment for basic faults.
  • Required to clean ice machines.

Spa and Pool

  • Required to have a basic knowledge of pool/Spa equipment and its operation.
  • Required to maintain pool and Spa cleanliness.
  • Required to have a basic knowledge of pool/Spa chemicals and the ability to apply them.

One to three years as a General Maintenance Technician in the gaming/hospitality industry and possess required valid licenses.
