2. Key Responsibilities
2.1 PLC / Automation Control System Support
• Perform troubleshooting and repair for PLC-controlled machines, including I/O signals, sensors, actuators, interlocks, alarms, and safety circuits.
• Support control panel components such as relays, contactors, power supplies, VFD/inverters, servo drives, and communication modules.
• Conduct PLC and HMI backup, restore, and parameter verification in accordance with internal procedures.
• Support machine control modifications (where applicable) under proper change control and approval.
2.2 Robotics System Support
• Troubleshoot and recover industrial robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, Kawasaki, ABB, Yaskawa) to restore production operations.
• Respond to robot alarms including axis errors, servo faults, encoder/battery alarms, and safety interlock faults.
• Support robot teaching adjustments, calibration checks, and recovery procedures together with vendor or internal engineering team.
• Execute robot preventive maintenance activities such as inspection, lubrication/greasing, cable condition checks, and battery replacement.
2.3 Breakdown Response & Root Cause Analysis
• Provide timely breakdown response and corrective action to minimize downtime and production losses.
• Record breakdown details including symptoms, action taken, spare parts used, and downtime duration.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
2.4 Preventive Maintenance & Reliability Improvement
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and checklists for automation equipment and robotics systems.
• Ensure preventive maintenance completion and compliance as per maintenance planning.
• Support MTTR/MTBF tracking and downtime Pareto analysis for improvement initiatives.
• Maintain critical spare parts readiness for automation and robotics components.
2.5 Documentation & Compliance
• Prepare and update SOPs, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance records.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety requirements (LOTO, EHS procedures, and risk assessments).
• Support internal audits and compliance requirements related to maintenance documentation.
2.6 Team Support & Vendor Coordination
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job coaching to technicians for PLC and robotics troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers and vendors for major troubleshooting, spare parts, and technical support.
• Communicate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams to support operational needs.

3. Qualification Requirements
3.1 Education
• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
3.2 Experience
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, preferably in automation-intensive environments.
• Hands-on experience in PLC troubleshooting and industrial robotics support.
3.3 Technical Competency (Preferred)
• PLC platforms: Mitsubishi / Siemens / Omron / Allen Bradley (any relevant platform).
• Robotics systems: Fanuc / Kawasaki / ABB / Yaskawa (any relevant platform).
• Strong knowledge in electrical control circuits, safety interlock systems, and industrial communication.
• Basic understanding of servo systems, VFDs, sensors, pneumatic controls, and troubleshooting methodology.
3.4 Skills & Attributes
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to work under pressure and respond quickly during production downtime.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Strong documentation discipline and safety mindset.

4. Working Conditions
• May require shift support and on-call standby depending on production requirements.
• Requires hands-on troubleshooting in production environment.
• Must be able to support urgent breakdown situations.
