The Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in ensuring our resort remains safe, functional, and guest-ready at all times. This position supports day-to-day maintenance operations across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and facility systems. Perform daily maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
Complete work orders accurately and efficiently within established timelines.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, HVAC, and building system issues.
Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, corridors, equipment, and public spaces to identify maintenance needs.
Assist with preventative maintenance programs to prolong equipment life and minimize downtime.
Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests while ensuring minimal disruption.
Support emergency maintenance needs and participate in on-call rotation as required.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe, clean, and orderly condition.
Adhere to all safety procedures, union guidelines, and resort operating standards.
Collaborate with the maintenance team and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Strong handyman skill set, including general trades experience (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical repairs, etc.).
Previous experience in a resort, hotel, or hospitality environment strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of building systems and maintenance protocols.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety documents, and work orders.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to lift, push, and carry heavy equipment and work in various physical environments (heights, tight spaces, outdoors).
Must meet union membership and classification requirements upon hire.
