Responsible for maintenance, service and repairs of off-campus owned and leased real estate to assure the safe and reliable operation of the buildings and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to analytically think and reason, diagnose problems, determine if the work can be self-performed or if outside resource needs to be contacted.
Must be able to operate hand, power, and specialty tools to perform all required maintenance duties.
Knowledgeable in all areas of building operations and maintenance, including but not limited to; carpentry, electrical, HVAC, painting & plumbing.
Maintain, repair and replace doors, frames, and hardware. Maintain and repair drywall partitions, acoustical ceiling systems, and VCT flooring.
Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical distribution, including but not limited to, panel boards, conduit and wiring, light fixtures, switches and receptacles. Replace electric motors on hot water recirculation pumps, exhaust fans, and condenser fans.
Assure electrical systems are in compliance with the National Electrical Code.
Inspect and test emergency power systems, nurse call systems, fire alarm and detection systems, access control, alarm systems and communication systems.
Operate, maintain or coordinate/schedule maintenance of boilers, air handlers, rooftop HVAC equipment, water heaters, water softeners, building control systems.
Minor painting touch-up as required for minor drywall repairs.
Replace faulty, damaged or broken plumbing, faucets, and fixtures. Repair leaks/breaks in domestic water supply lines. Power rod branch domestic waste lines.
Maintain and replenish a limited supply of parts for inventory.
Schedule and maintain records of all regulatory inspections of fire detection and notification systems, fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers.
Assist in the formulation and administration of the capital maintenance budget.
May be required to perform fire drills, in-services on the operation and maintenance of fire extinguishers, fire and burglar systems.
May be required to perform limited housekeeping or security duties as required to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Must be able to work off ladders, flat and pitched roofs, attics, crawl spaces and other confined spaces.
Must be available 24/7 for emergencies.
Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct
Required Qualifications
Education and Training
High School Graduate or equivalent, Trade School Certificate
5 years of industrial maintenance experience
Work Shift Details:
Nights, 3rd Shift 11pm to 7:30 am and rotating weekends and holidays
