We are currently hiring for two Maintenance Electrician openings at our Duraflake wood products mill:

  • Dayshift Maintenance Electrician
  • Shift Maintenance Electrician (Journeyman preferred; qualified LME candidates will also be considered)

Compensation varies based on position, qualifications, licensure, and experience. Current pay ranges are outlined below for each position.

Dayshift Maintenance Electricians (Plant Journeyman or Journeyman Electrician license required)

  • Base hourly rate ranging from $46.55 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
  • Additional earning potential includes profit share/gain share opportunities.
  • Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, providing excellent work-life balance.

Shift Maintenance Electricians (Plant Journeyman or Journeyman Electrician license required)

  • Base hourly rate ranging from $46.55 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
  • Once employee is assigned to the rotating shift schedule, they will receive a $3.00 per hour shift differential, increasing the effective hourly rate to $49.55-$53.00 per hour.
  • Additional earning potential includes profit share/gain share opportunities.
  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating schedule (2-2-3 rotation), alternating between days and nights every two weeks (7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. / 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.).

LME Candidates for Shift Maintenance Electricians (Qualified Oregon LME candidates may be considered for the Shift Maintenance Electrician opening)

  • Base hourly rate of $42.82 per hour.
  • Once employee is assigned to the rotating shift schedule, they will receive a $3.00 per hour shift differential, increasing the effective hourly rate to $45.82 per hour.
  • Additional earning potential includes profit share/gain share opportunities.
  • This position includes a structured progression program that provides opportunities for wage growth as employees complete training requirements, demonstrate proficiency, and advance through defined skill levels.
  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating schedule (2-2-3 rotation), alternating between days and nights every two weeks (7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. / 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.).

Highly qualified candidates with exceptional industrial electrical experience may be considered for compensation adjustments consistent with company compensation practices.

What We’re Looking For:

Licensing

  • Oregon Plant Journeyman Electrician License or Oregon General Journeyman Electrician License required. Candidates who currently hold an equivalent electrician license from a state with Oregon electrical licensing reciprocity may be considered, provided they are eligible to obtain Oregon licensure consistent with state requirements.
  • Qualified Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) candidates may be considered for the Shift Maintenance Electrician position based on experience, demonstrated industrial electrical knowledge, technical capabilities, and business needs. LME candidates selected for the position will be expected to participate in a structured development program designed to expand electrical troubleshooting and maintenance capabilities within the facility.

Experience & Technical Knowledge

  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience with AC and DC motor controls, including variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Proficiency using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment, including digital multimeters (DMMs), volt-ohm meters (VOMs), and megohm meters (Meggers).
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment preferred, with familiarity with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix systems strongly preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to perform mechanical maintenance and millwright-related tasks as a routine part of the position.

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and compliance with company safety procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined or restricted-access areas as required.
  • Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as required by operational needs.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize work assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining electrical systems in wood products, sawmill, manufacturing, pulp and paper, or other heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong industrial mechanical and millwright skills.
  • Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with predictive or preventative maintenance programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including moving throughout the facility, climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and work in awkward positions as necessary to inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in environments that may include dust, chemicals, elevated noise levels, and varying temperatures.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, consistent with applicable law.
  • Successful completion of a post-offer physical capabilities assessment.
