We’re looking for a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Pact Packaging Albany site. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all manufacturing equipment, site services, and infrastructure at site.

Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for delivering preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and timely repairs to minimise downtime and support maximum factory uptime, while also managing site services, overseeing building and infrastructure maintenance, driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure reliable plant performance and minimise downtime.
- Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and respond quickly to breakdowns to maximise production uptime.
- Use CMMS (MEX) to manage maintenance schedules, track work orders, and maintain accurate records and spare parts inventory.
- Monitor and maintain critical site services, coordinating with external contractors to ensure continuous operations.
- Oversee building and infrastructure maintenance, including electrical systems, and liaise with landlords and service providers.
- Champion high standards of housekeeping, food safety, and 6S initiatives in line with HACCP and GMP requirements.
- Support automation, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and capability.
- Identify and implement reliability and continuous improvement initiatives and support Regular Asset Care Activities.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g. WHSE, FSSC22000, ISO14001), promoting a zero-harm culture.

Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- At least 3 years' technical maintenance experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environment.
- Maintenance and diagnostics engineer (or equivalent engineering trade qualification)
- Current EWRB EAS-EST accreditation or willingness to obtain this qualification. (Desirable)
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and CMMS (preferably MEX).
- Excellent fault finding, diagnostic, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, approachable, and professional.
- Familiarity with Office 365 and ability to work unattended.
Additional Information
- Albany, Auckland site
- This is a permanent full-time role. Days of work required: Monday to Friday: 40 hours per week – Regular working hours 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
- The base hourly rate for this role is between $45.00 to $55.00 per hour – depending on experience.
- Flexibility to participate in an on-call and overtime as required.
