About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our maintenance team at Vinidex's manufacturing facility in Toowoomba.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting electrical faults, carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance, and ensuring our production equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.
This position offers a varied workload across heavy industrial equipment, automation systems, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technology, providing excellent opportunities to further develop your technical skills.
R otational on call coverage
Monday to Thursday: 6:30am - 4:30pm
Friday: 6:30am - 2:00pm
What will you do?
Conduct breakdown and reactive maintenance activities across the site and facilities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and monitor production assets to maximise equipment reliability, plant performance, and uptime.
Apply a solutions-focused approach to fault finding, preventative maintenance, and breakdown response, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Maintenance, Production, Tooling, and Manufacturing teams to support operational requirements and plant performance.
Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring SWMS, JSEA, Permit to Work (PTW), and other risk management processes are followed and effectively implemented.
Complete preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, equipment repairs, and maintenance work orders in a planned and timely manner.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and work history within the MEX/CMMS system.
Support maintenance shutdowns, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement projects across the site.
About you
Current Australian Electrical Licence (essential).
Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or similar engineering environment.
Strong understanding of the Electrical Safety Act, Australian Wiring Standards, and safe work practices.
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical systems in a fast-paced production environment.
Advanced knowledge of Variable Speed Drives (AC/DC), PLCs, SCADA systems, and automation controls.
Experience working with automation, robotics, and modern manufacturing equipment.
Proficiency using CMMS systems (MEX or equivalent), with SAP experience highly regarded.
Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing maintenance activities in a dynamic environment.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
A strong focus on safety and compliance, with a commitment to maintaining best-practice standards.
