We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Facilities department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for a Maintenance Electrician

GUIDELINES FOR MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

MUST HAVE COMMERCIAL INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE. JOURNEYMAN CARD HOLDER IS A PLUS.

ALL

Installation, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with diagrams, drawings, schematics and the national electrical codes. Experience in commercial and residential electrical work. Capable of and experienced in controller installation and repairs. Be able to plan an installation and draw up material list. Have some experience in phone and data cabling.

Vision Requirements: The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach or performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as ones by electricians, technicians, service people, painters, mechanics, etc.

AND

Must be able to climb on and around ships and walk to other yard areas and requires extended periods of standing and walking (75%). Inspections and work may require climbing ladders, working at heights, walking on scaffolding and observing co-workers using tools and equipment. Lifting/carrying tools and parts weighing up to 50 lbs. on frequent basis. Standing, bending, sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, crouching, kneeling, handling, finger dexterity, feeling, eye/hand/foot coordination, seeing, hearing required. Selecting appropriate tools for jobs, as per trade classification. Works in tight, confined work spaces on board ship and is exposed to varied temperatures, wind, wet and humid conditions, fumes, odors and dust, vibrations from ship and hand tools, constant moving machinery, possible toxic and caustic chemicals.
