Maintenance Electrician – Ketton

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Electrician to join our team at our Ketton site. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability and efficiency of our plant, machinery, and site infrastructure.

The Role

You will carry out maintenance and repair operations in line with the operational maintenance plan and budget, helping to improve plant reliability and availability while ensuring cost-effective maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance & Fault Finding

  • Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, and fault diagnosis on plant and equipment
  • Support inspections, improvements, and upgrades in line with site standards

LV/HV Installations

  • Work to IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Install, test, and maintain LV/HV systems
  • Undertake inspection and testing in line with relevant codes and regulations (Electricity at Work Regs 1989, Quarry Regulations 1999)
  • Perform fault level analysis and specify protection systems (fuses, feeders, transformer protection)
  • Maintain switchgear, transformers, and cable systems

Drives & Motors

  • Install and maintain AC/DC motors
  • Work with induction motors, slip ring motors, and associated starting systems (e.g. soft start, liquid starters)
  • Diagnose and maintain variable speed drives
  • Understand vibration analysis for bearing systems

Instrumentation & Control Systems

  • Work with process instrumentation and calibration (e.g. load cells, level systems, PID controllers)
  • Maintain and troubleshoot safety-critical control systems and interlocks (e.g. Pilz, Castel/Fortress)
  • Support PLC systems (e.g. Siemens S7) and SCADA fault-finding
  • Assist with delivery of capital projects from concept through to commissioning

General Responsibilities

  • Work in line with company technical standards and IMS procedures
  • Use SAP PM for maintenance activities
  • Liaise with supervisors on technical and safety matters
  • Support development of spare parts strategies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, efficiency, and sustainability initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

  • Trained in HV/LV systems (essential)
  • City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • ONC / HNC / HND (desirable)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience
  • Knowledge of industrial plant, controls, and instrumentation
