The department is responsible for the provision and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, plant and equipment serving the main non-manufacturing sites; Gaydon, Whitley, Fen End and Oxford Road. Operating on a single day shift at present. There may be a call to operate out of hours or on shifts from time to time dependent on workload.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this role, Operating from a central facilities workshop, you will be responsible for conducting maintenance; fault finding and installation work in a variety of buildings with state-of-the-art vehicle design and test facilities. Whilst supporting the Estate management team ensuring all sites and facilities meet the needs of the business. Here’s what to expect:

  • Support the Estate management team ensuring all sites and facilities meet the needs of the business
  • Help to ensure a safe and efficient performance is delivered within the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People & the Environment framework
  • Be responsible for ensuring all work carried out is to current industry standards and associated codes of practice
  • Complete all record sheets and paperwork associated with routine duties accurately and in good time
  • Handle the completion of tasks either as part of the PPM system or routine/planned works

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  • Completed a recognised trade apprenticeship and qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), with solid knowledge of IEE regulations with experience in maintaining general office and workshop equipment and machinery is desirable. You must be self-motivated and use to working both in a team environment and on your own initiative
  • Holds 18th Edition electrical qualification
  • Skilled in maintaining LV equipment, lighting systems, lighting controls, and mechanical plant including pumps, motors, motor controls, and BMS systems (HVAC, boilers, compressors)
  • Experienced in fault finding, testing, and inspection across a range of machinery and building services equipment
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications
  • Competent computer user with the ability to operate relevant software and digital systems
  • Full UK driving licence required, with the ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment
