What will your role be?
As a Maintenance Electrician at Diageo, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our site running safely, reliably and efficiently. Working as part of a highly skilled electrical and mechanical maintenance team, you’ll provide specialist electrical support across our end-to-end operations — from blending and packaging through to dispatch.
This role covers the entire site, with a strong focus on hazardous area electrical installations, ensuring all work is completed in line with WHS legislation and Diageo’s Global Risk Management Standards. Your expertise will directly support equipment reliability, plant performance and our commitment to operational excellence in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
What does this role look like for you?
Deliver planned preventative maintenance to electrical equipment in line with the site maintenance strategy
Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults and restore equipment to minimise downtime and improve OEE
Provide front-line electrical support across blending, packaging and dispatch operations
Support and contribute to root cause analysis, sharing knowledge and coaching others to prevent repeat issues
Lead and contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives that improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs year-on-year
Support production lines through an electrical call-out roster (typically day and afternoon shifts) alongside fellow electricians and fitters
Use CMMS systems (such as SAP) to accurately capture maintenance activity, data and insights
What will you bring to the table?
To succeed in this role, you’ll combine strong technical capability with a safety-first mindset and a collaborative approach. You’ll bring:
A current Electrical Licence (essential)
Recent, hands-on experience in an industrial or FMCG maintenance environment
Experience working with hazardous area electrical installations (highly desirable)
Strong fault-finding, analytical and problem-solving skills
Confidence reading and interpreting electrical schematics and drawings
Proven experience (5+ years) working with PLC and SCADA-controlled equipment, variable speed drives, pneumatics and hydraulics
Comfort using digital tools, including email, word processing and CMMS platforms such as SAP
The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a multi-trade team
A proactive mindset, curiosity for continuous improvement and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving FMCG environment
Nice to have (but not essential):
Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) experience
Mechanical trade exposure or cross-trade capability
