Job Description

Our award-winning client is seeking a Maintenance Electrical Engineer to join their team. The role of the Electrical Engineer is pivotal in providing crucial support to the industrial manufacturing plant's power systems, catering to both continuous and batch process systems. The primary focus will be on maintaining and enhancing the performance and reliability of the site's electrical systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:


  • Attendance: Prompt, regular, and dependable attendance is a fundamental requirement.

  • Role and Department: Serve as the Site Electrical Engineer within the Maintenance Department.

  • Documentation Management: Maintain and update plant electrical single line diagrams, along with conducting associated Arc Flash Analysis and Labeling.

  • Compliance Authority: Act as an Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure NPFA 70E compliance.

  • Maintenance Planning: Specify appropriate Preventive Maintenance (PMs) and Predictive Maintenance (PdMs).

  • Equipment Purchase Specifications: Provide Maintenance Functional input to new Process Equipment Purchase Specifications to ensure adequacy.

  • Team Collaboration: Provide direction to Electricians, Mechanics, and other staff disciplines for project and maintenance support, collaborating effectively with I&E Technicians and Management.

  • Training: As needed, be willing to train co-workers in areas of expertise.

  • Safety Reviews: Participate in Pre-Start-Up-Safety-Reviews to ensure safe commissioning and system start-up.

  • Tooling Requirements: Participate in specifying on-site maintenance and repair capability and tooling requirements.

  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements based on Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) findings and establish critical equipment spares.

  • Reliability Analysis: Recommend equipment reliability improvements by analyzing equipment trends, and historical, and field data.

  • Standards Compliance: Ensure installation and operations conform to standards and plant requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications and/or technical drawings.

  • Standard Establishment: Establish construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications through detailed calculations.

  • Coordination: Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or plant requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.

  • Technical Knowledge: Possess knowledge of PLCs, Instruments, DCS systems, UPS systems, and control valves.

  • Flexibility: Undertake additional assignments as deemed necessary by management.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university or college.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with AC/DC drives and motors, low and medium power distribution, substations, and power distribution equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, cables, etc.).

  • Experience and knowledge of PLC, HMIs, instruments, and DCS systems.

  • Desired Characteristics: Minimum 2 years of experience in Facility Engineering, along with expertise in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Thermography, and Motor Circuit Analysis. Prior experience in Chemical Manufacturing with Process Safety Management (PSM) is preferred.
