Job Description

Vector: Powering Auckland. Shaping the future.

Life at Vector means being part of something bigger.

Here, your work matters. We keep the lights on across Auckland, and each of us plays a key role in the future of the energy industry, building a legacy of clean power for future generations.

We’re embracing opportunities to innovate, collaborating with leading names globally to develop, adopt and share cutting-edge technologies that drive energy sustainability and efficiency.

And while we shape the future, we prioritise yours. Enjoy a comprehensive salary and benefits package, hybrid working and flexibility with hours, and be part of a diverse, inclusive culture that values fresh thinking and career growth.

Culture that powers progress

Hear from our people on what they enjoy most about Vector, why they joined and why they stay.

The role

As Maintenance Coordinator in Field Services, you’ll support the delivery of maintenance activity across Vector’s electricity network by keeping records accurate, coordinating customer and contractor communications, and helping maintenance work progress safely, reliably and effectively. Working closely with our Senior Contracts Manager, Contracts Manager, field service providers and internal teams, you’ll monitor and process maintenance tasks, manage enquiries, support meetings, and maintain information across systems including SharePoint, SAP and GIS.

This is a role with direct impact on network reliability and the value customers receive from maintenance investment. You’ll gain broad exposure to operational, commercial and contractor-management activities, including invoice checks, compliance monitoring, quality assurance using documentation and photos, and communication with customers and property owners. There’s also real scope to improve processes, reduce rework and build pathways into broader operational, project, customer, analytics or electricity roles over time.

You’ll also be a key coordination point for maintenance-related activity, from contractor submissions, reinstatement items and regulatory pole monitoring through to easements, consent applications and complex customer communications. You’ll identify gaps, escalate issues where needed, and develop clear process documentation so the team can work consistently and efficiently.

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong administration and coordination skills, with the organisation to manage maintenance tasks, documentation, customer enquiries and contractor follow-up independently
  • Confident systems and data capability, including strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills, with the ability to extract, manipulate and present data; proficiency across multiple operational and reporting systems is important, and experience with SAP, GIS or Siebel would be helpful
  • Strong analytical, numeric and process-management skills, with attention to detail for invoice checks, quality assurance, compliance monitoring and accurate record maintenance
  • Clear communication and relationship-management skills, with the confidence to work effectively with contractors, field service providers, customers, property owners and internal teams, including professionally challenging information, invoices or claims when needed
  • A curious, accountable improvement mindset, with the ability to document processes clearly, support meetings, prioritise workloads, track commitments and recommend practical improvements.

Why Vector?

We know that great energy starts with great people, and we’re committed to creating an environment where you can be, do and achieve your best:

  • Enhance your wellbeing, protect your future and empower your personal and professional growth through our extensive benefits package
  • Supercharge your career through internal opportunities, own your own development plan and drive your learning and growth
