Queensland Bulk Handling (QBH) is seeking an experienced Maintenance Coordinator to join our team on a 6 month fixed-term contract

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the safe and effective execution of maintenance projects and contractor-led works across QBH. Working closely with the Maintenance Planner, the role ensures maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with maintenance plans, site procedures, and safety requirements.

Queensland Bulk Handling (QBH) is Brisbane’s leading bulk handling facility, wholly owned by New Hope Group. Commissioned in 1983, the facility has a reputation as a bulk handling export terminal with an excellent safety record.

Located at the Port of Brisbane, you'll become part of a dedicated team committed to excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the execution of planned maintenance activities and site maintenance projects.
  • Coordinate external contractors engaged for maintenance activities.
  • Ensure maintenance works are executed in accordance with maintenance plans and operational requirements.
  • Monitor work progress to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed in compliance with site procedures and policies.
  • Participate in risk assessments as required in accordance with relevant framework.
  • Complete regular Safety Interactions and Hazard Inspections as required.
  • Coordinate prestart meetings, necessary permits, equipment isolations, switch-on/switch-off activities, and verification of work completion.
  • Ensure maintenance management systems are updated with relevant work orders and project information.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Planner to support the successful delivery of maintenance activities.
  • Identify and escalate safety, quality, or scheduling issues that may impact maintenance activities.
  • Provide hands-on maintenance support where required.

This role will work a Monday to Friday roster with additional weekend work for rail shutdowns as required.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience working in maintenance environments with a strong mechanical mindset and the ability to understand, coordinate, and oversee maintenance activities.
  • Mechanical Trade Qualification desirable.
  • Prior experience in a Leading Hand, Maintenance Supervisor, or similar Maintenance Coordinator role.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health & safety.
  • Exposure to permit systems.
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications and maintenance management systems.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • High Risk Work Licence - Forklift.
  • High Risk Work Licence – EWP.
  • Working at Heights certification desirable.
  • Confined Space Entry certification desirable.
