The Role:
Opportunity for maintenance Control Manager to join our team based in Garden Island. This role will be overseeing the coordination, compliance, and readiness of maintenance activities at the Garden Island Defence Precinct under the RMP East and DORSC contracts. This includes ensuring that workshops, equipment, materials handling resources, safety gear, and trades and technical labour are aligned with maintenance schedules, safety standards, and documentation requirements. The role is pivotal to maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of naval maintenance outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
Support the Maintenance Capability Manager in daily coordination of maintenance activities and resources.
Work with the Trade Capability Managers on the alignment and undertaking of tasks
Work with Training Capability on ensuring the workforce is appropriately trained and certified.
Manage estimating cell to ensure all estimates required from the Traded workforce are actions and returned on time.
Ensure all PPE, safety equipment, and HSE-related materials are available and maintained.
Coordinate with Materials Handling Manager and workshop resources to support planned schedules.
Support system and administrative labour allocation including contractors, industry partners, and FSU personnel.
Ensure all maintenance documentation, including OQE and TPCC, is complete and available for customer sign-off.
Support HSE compliance
Monitor KPIs and report on areas requiring management attention.
Participate in all scheduled maintenance period coordination meetings.
How about you?
Technical trade background or equivalent experience in marine, mechanical, or industrial maintenance.
Experience working within a Defence, industrial or heavy-asset maintenance environment.
Familiarity with HSE regulations, PPE requirements, and safety practices.
Understanding of Defence compliance documentation including OQE and TPCC.
Ability to manage dynamic labour resources in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Competence in documentation tracking, readiness reporting, and scheduling tools.
Excellent coordination and planning skills across multiple resources and workstreams.
Strong working knowledge of HSE systems and their application in shipyard environments.
Proficiency in digital tools and systems for planning, safety, and reporting
