About the role:

The Maintenance & Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving maintenance performance through ownership of maintenance KPIs, data quality, structured problem solving, and continuous improvement of maintenance systems and strategies across site assets.

What you bring:

  • Relevant electrical engineering qualifications
  • Good understanding of maintenance performance metrics (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, schedule adherence etc.)
  • Capable of using IT systems (Microsoft packages, SAP PM etc.)
  • Formal Continuous improvement qualification along with practical experience (Lean, TPM, RCM, Six Sigma)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and OEM manuals

What you will be doing:

  • Establishing, maintaining, and reporting on OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, breakdowns, and cost performance with daily/weekly/monthly visibility of trends and risks
  • Leading structured RCA investigations (A3, 5-Why, Fishbone) for significant downtime and recurring failures; producing evidence-based findings with corrective and preventative actions
  • Monitoring completion of improvement actions, verifying effectiveness, and embedding learnings into job plans, standards, and operating procedures
  • Identifying and managing reliability opportunities including PM optimisation, condition-based maintenance, job standardisation, and spares strategy improvements
  • Supporting PM strategy refinement focused on risk, compliance, reliability outcomes and lifecycle cost
  • Partnering with Planners and Maintenance Managers to enhance scope clarity, parts availability, job packs, hours estimation, and LOTO readiness.
  • Tracking adherence drivers (break-in work, incomplete packs, parts/access constraints) and recommend mitigation actions
  • Assessing backlog based on risk, downtime impact, compliance, and business priorities; provide recommendations to Maintenance Managers
  • Developing technical and business cases for equipment improvements driven by reliability risk, repeat failures, obsolescence, or downtime cost
  • Evaluating improvement solutions, ensure alignment with engineering standards, and maintain documentation and SAP records
  • Ensuring all CI activities align with risk assessments, safe systems of work, LOTO, and relevant regulations; support incident investigations and preventative action embedding
  • Supporting improvement workshops and post-shutdown reviews to capture and embed lessons learned across the organisation
