Maintenance Technician C
Purpose
The Maintenance Worker “C” performs facility maintenance requirements. Keep facility areas clean and in an orderly condition. Work successfully with co-workers, customers, contractors, & others. Understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written. Understand instructions for tasks using basic maintenance and communication skills.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience of general maintenance experience required
Position Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair machines and equipment in plant and related facilities.
- Identify and perform a variety of repairs and preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems and related plant and facility equipment.
- Perform a variety of maintenance machine and facility repairs.
- Responsible for training and development of Maintenance Level C & D employees.
- Operates tools, equipment, and machinery in the maintenance repair, and fabrication of parts, machines and equipment.
- Completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties.
- Ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures.
- Follow all safety requirements for the individual as well as other employees.
- Keeping the work area clean and in orderly condition
- Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using schematics and machine prints.
- Oversight of Material Recycling and Coolant Programs.
- Monitor and report to supervision, inventory levels of consumable items.
- Perform preventative maintenance on plant and facility equipment.
- Perform maintenance requiring knowledge of skilled trades as appropriate or applicable.
- Complete mid-level PMs and tickets.
- Respond to hazardous waste incidents.
- Use of lifts and ladders.
- Grounds keeping
- Facility upkeep including light plumbing and electrical duties
- Manage chip and recycling program
- Manage coolant program
- Perform low level PM’s and tickets
- Performs other duties as assigned
Tasks
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- MIG & TIG Welding experience.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
- Able to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety and environmental rules, equipment operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Use of forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, and ladders.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Able to work in a cross-functional environment
- Basic troubleshooting
- Basic machine controller operation
- Strong attention to detail.
