Job Description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A Branch Supervisor III serves as the senior supervisor of a technically focused work unit/section and is responsible for the organization, tasking, prioritization, and supervision of all personnel within the section. Employee leads the section, directs, and administers the programs of a technical and administrative nature to accomplish the functional task and overall development of the section.

Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:

  • Establish technical and procedural guidelines to meet the needs of the work unit/section in accordance with company and customer requirements
  • Manage the technical performance of work assigned to the section
  • Interview job candidates and make decisions or recommend personnel actions such as hiring, discipline, and termination
  • Maintain current operational status information and assessments on projects, budgets, and development plans
  • Evaluate and make adjustments in procedures or re-assign priorities to projects/tasks, as needed, to keep activities on schedule and within budgetary limits
  • Oversee and monitor unit compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and process improvement goals and standards
  • Ensure appropriate training is provided to unit personnel to promote continuous improvement of services to the customer
  • Interact and coordinate with the customer on a personal basis, as required, to ensure all customer requirements or agreements are being met
  • Periodically evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors and scientific or technical professionals
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

A Maintenance Branch Supervisor III directs and administers the programs to accomplish the functional task and overall development within a branch and is responsible for the organization, tasking, prioritization, and supervision of all personnel within the branch. This position manages the JT4 Department 6600 Maintenance Branch; the sections included within this branch include the Site Support Sections located at the Air Dominance, Joint Strike Fighter, Birk Flight Test Facility, 412 Maintenance Group, B-21, and Range locations. Current staffing approximately 80.

In addition to the Essential Functions/Duties, employee will be responsible to perform the following:

  • Act as the primary JT4 point of contact for the Department 6600 Maintenance Branch.
  • Assist in establishing technical, administrative, and procedural guidelines to meet the needs of the Department 6600 Maintenance branch in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Provide feedback, updates, estimates, and performance reports to the department manager, financial analyst, and other administrative staff.
  • Encourage skills development and maximize cross utilization across the Branch, Department, and Annex.
  • Establish and cultivate an innovative work environment where cost savings, avoidances and efficiencies are actively realized.
  • Mentor section employees and section supervisors and develop career progression plans for the various job titles.
  • Perform Chief of Maintenance duties to include review and approval of preventative maintenance work procedures, lock out tagout procedures and other procedures as required.
  • Perform periodic over-the-shoulder audits to validate work and safety procedures.
  • Initiate and coordinate branch-level team building activities.
  • Manage projects or parts of complex projects with limited to no instruction on the intent and scope of the documents to be prepared.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, or statements of work.
  • Prepares, delivers, and submits performance evaluation and other technical presentations.
  • Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
  • Direct interface with internal and external customers at all levels; may act as liaison for support activities and working groups.
  • Supervise the performance of work performed by employees and supervisors assigned to the branch
  • Set employee work schedules and accounts for time worked by section employees.
  • Contribute to the development of operations/expense budgets for the branch and control costs and resources accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain a safety culture compliant with all JT4 and Air Force requirements.
  • Act as department manager’s delegate when necessary.
  • Perform a variety of supervisory tasks and any other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree or a combination of equivalent formal academic, military, or technical training and related experience, or 15 years of experience in a related field and five years of experience in a managerial/supervisory role are required for this position.

In addition, a Branch Supervisor III must possess the following qualifications:

  • In-depth working knowledge of related career fields such as technical trades or scientific and engineering professions
  • In-depth knowledge of the principles of advanced management obtained through formal or self-study
  • Understanding of the operational philosophy and business nature of the company
  • Familiarity with computer-based management tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning/organizational skills
  • Must possess a valid, state issued driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $142,500 to $180,000 annually.

JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is primarily sedentary in an office in a Base Operations environment. Some walking, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, stretching, and lifting (up to 25 pounds) is required.

Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
