Maintenance & Automation Technician

Location: Cadorago, Lombardy, Italy

Employment Type: Full-Time (Flexible Schedule, 38.5 hours/week)

Languages Required: Fluent Italian (English is a strong plus)

About the Company

Our client is a global materials science and digital identification solutions company with locations in over 50 countries, and approximately 35,000 employees worldwide.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance & Automation Technician to serve as a key technical authority at our state-of-the-art Cadorago Distribution Center. In this highly autonomous role, you will bridge the gap between complex process automation and hands-on electromechanical maintenance.

You will be responsible for ensuring the absolute reliability, safety, and continuous improvement of our high-speed production and packaging assets. If you are a proactive troubleshooter who thrives on keeping cutting-edge automated machinery running at peak performance, this role offers the perfect mix of deep technical challenge and operational ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Technical Support: Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize high-speed industrial slitting lines and automated packaging systems.

  • Root-Cause Diagnosis: Identify complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system faults, developing and executing long-term preventive and corrective action plans.

  • Automation & Control Systems: Lead localized programming modifications and automation optimization initiatives across production equipment and facilities.

  • External Partner Coordination: Manage relationship-critical technical suppliers and coordinate specialized subcontractors during on-site interventions.

  • Strategic Maintenance Planning: Contribute valuable technical insights to the local maintenance budget and overall site reliability strategy.

Your Profile

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of successful maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment (experience in paper converting, slitting/rewinding, or adhesive tape industries is highly advantageous).

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and repair highly automated electromechanical systems.

  • Schematics & Drafting: Strong capability to read and analyze complex electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical technical drawings.

  • Automation Networks: Practical experience interfacing with hardware and software across industrial automation networks.

  • Technology Ecosystems: Hands-on familiarity with Siemens or Rockwell PLC systems and software is considered a major advantage.

  • Languages: Fluent in written and spoken Italian is mandatory; proficiency in English is highly valued.

What We Offer

We believe in taking care of our team with a comprehensive, well-rounded benefits package:

  • Health & Security: Private health insurance (including partial dental coverage) alongside comprehensive life and personal injury insurance (covering both professional and extra-professional activities).

  • Future Security: Corporate pension scheme with additional company-matched contributions to the Fon.te fund.

  • Work-Life Balance: A flexible weekly schedule based on an ordinary 38.5-hour workweek.

  • Well-being & Support: On-site osteopath sessions (1–2 times per month) and access to the LYRA Employee Assistance Program for mental and emotional well-being.

  • Daily Perks: High-value meal vouchers (€7 net per day worked) and tailor-made Individual Development Plans to support your long-term career growth.
