Job Description

Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center has an opportunity in our detox/residential treatment center located in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to impact other human beings in such an AMAZING way that it changes their lives forever. We have a current position open for a full time Maintenance Assistant.

The position of Maintenance Assistant is an integral component of our team that reports to the Director of Operations. This position’s primary duty is to maintain the upkeep of the facility through established maintenance and janitorial routines. At time the Maintenance Assistant will transport clients via company vehicle.

The right candidate has an exceptional attention to detail and must be reliable and a self-starter. A qualified candidate must be experienced in general construction skills, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, landscaping and painting. This position requires the ability to be flexible and versatile in whatever is needed for the shift.

A valid driver’s license with no DUIs within the past 5 years and no more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years is required for this position.

Essential Functions Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Performing general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment as requested by Director of Operations (i.e. plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical equipment repair, etc.).
  • Following preventive maintenance and cleaning schedules as directed and complete necessary reports on time.
  • Must be able to perform job task without outside help
  • Work is primarily physical in nature, occasionally lifting to 100 or more pounds,
  • Acting as back-up on call person for Director of Operations responding to emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Project a cooperative and positive attitude towards clients, visitors, co-workers and vendors.
  • Weekends required.

Qualifications:

  • Education – High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience – 1 – 3 years related experience with knowledge/experience in electrical, plumbing, landscaping, mechanical equipment, painting, etc.
  • Certifications - CPR / CPI required. (Offered at facility)
  • Licenses – Valid driver’s license- No DUIs within the past 5 years and no more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years.
  • Physical – Long periods of standing and walking. Must be able to lift 100 pounds or more.
  • Age / Gender Specifics - Ability to work with male/female adult substance abuse populations.
