Maintenance Assistant

White Hart Hotel

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on, and enthusiastic Maintenance Assistant to join the team at the White Hart Hotel. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a luxury hospitality environment while playing a key role in ensuring the hotel operates smoothly and safely.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for guests, visitors, and colleagues. You will demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations. The successful candidate will be well organized, proactive, and able to respond promptly to the operational needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance tasks across the hotel, including basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
  • Assist with planned preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to reactive maintenance requests, supporting the hotel management team as required.
  • Maintain all maintenance and service areas in clean, organized, and safe conditions.
  • Ensure the hotel grounds are clean, tidy, and well maintained throughout the year, including waste management and bin disposal.
  • Provide support to other departments when required, such as assisting Housekeeping with laundry duties or room set-up.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a maintenance or trade-related role is desirable but not essential.

A willingness to learn and develop new skills within a hospitality setting.

A practical, proactive approach to problem-solving.

Good communication skills with a friendly and positive attitude.

Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as required.

A full, valid driving license is essential.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £10.85- £ 12.71
