Location:The Salvation Army – Owens Campus

Status:Non-Exempt – Full Time

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be able to carry out duties without close supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
  • Highly adaptable; thrives on challenges and excels in new environments
  • Time management skills, ability to complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools
  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing repair or general Maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting tasks; both routine and emergency
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Supervise client Pre-Employment Training activities as directed by supervisor.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure that all assigned jobs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with the Salvation Army safety codes and OSHA requirements with all buildings and grounds. Keep all OSHA data sheets up-to-date and complete.
  • Assist with the regular maintenance of all vehicles on campus.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness, general appearance and upkeep to all buildings and grounds.
  • Maintain regular maintenance of all equipment and tools on campus.
  • Attend all staff meetings.
  • Other duties, as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
