The Maintenance Area Team Lead - Night Shift is a hands-on technical leader responsible for coordinating and prioritizing maintenance activities during assigned shifts. This role ensures timely response to equipment failures, supports safe and efficient operations, enhances equipment reliability, and drives continuous improvement while providing leadership and guidance to maintenance personnel.

Your Role at a Glance

  • Lead maintenance crews during night shift operations, ensuring corrective maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
  • Prioritize maintenance work orders based on production requirements, safety risks, and equipment criticality.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating emergency repairs.
  • Execute planned maintenance activities when corrective maintenance demands are low.
  • Provide hands-on support and technical guidance for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs.
  • Communicate shift activities, equipment issues, and completed work to incoming teams and supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, safety standards, and proper use of PPE and tools.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in SAP CMMS, including labor hours, materials, and follow-up actions.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and daily walkdowns to identify potential reliability concerns.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) following significant equipment failures and assist with corrective action implementation.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs and identify opportunities to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Monitor equipment condition and escalate reliability concerns to engineering and reliability teams.
  • Support TPM initiatives and operator-led equipment care activities.
  • Mentor maintenance technicians and encourage cross-training across maintenance disciplines.
  • Lead safety discussions, toolbox talks, and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Enforce compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other site safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

What Sets You Apart

We’re looking for individuals who bring the right mix of experience, mindset, and motivation:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, or multi-craft environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS systems, preferably SAP.
  • Proven leadership ability in a shift-based manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • OSHA 10/30, LOTO, or related safety certifications preferred.
  • Willingness to pursue additional leadership and reliability-related training.
