We are currently hiring for our Maintenance Apprentice Program

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, as a Maintenance Apprentice you will receive on-the-job training to: learn how to repair, maintain, perform preventive and recognize predictive maintenance, install and troubleshoot industrial equipment, systems and components, including various plant equipment; perform indoor and outdoor housekeeping; gain necessary skills and knowledge of Maintenance Best Practices.

We are looking for reliable, ambitious individuals who have a proactive attitude. This person will be able to work closely with the production team to ensure we are running our machines safely and efficiently to create a quality product. If this describes you, APPLY TODAY!

SCHEDULE: MONDAY-FRIDAY, 7AM-330PM

PAY: Starting at $22/hr and up, depending on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct regularly scheduled preventative maintenance activities as defined by established work instructions.

  • Shadows maintenance team members to learn key work activities in the plant

  • Participates in all training and practice opportunities and meets performance expectations and timing requirements.

  • Assist all departments with breakdowns. 

  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area. 

  • Follow all safety requirements of this position. 

  • Apprentice duties may be performed in addition to the employee’s regular duties while participating in the Maintenance Technician Program.

  • Perform all other duties as directed by management. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma

  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; Bilingual is a Plus!
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably mechanical activities

  • 1-2 years of enrollment in a High School, Community college or University technical program, preferred
  • Ability to safely use or learn to use hand and power tools, and electrical devices i.e. multi-meter, etc

    • Ability to read and work from schematics, blueprints, diagrams and sketches
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office) and ability to learn Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).

  • Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws):

  • Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects  

  • Mobility sufficient to allow frequent entrance and exits from lift or fork truck.

  • Must be able to wear dust mask, earplugs, face shields as necessary

  • Ability to climb ladders and other elevated equipment listen to equipment, look for defects in product and sense temperature changes in the finished product 

  • Stand and walk long distances on the plant floor for 8 to 12 hours on a shift and work around hot machinery.

  • Occasional climbing, reaching, squatting and bending to operate and fix equipment

  • Work in an environment that may be exposed to external elements (hot and cold temperatures) and occasional loud noises.

  • Able to lift and carry, push/pull up to 50lbs multiple times per shift

“The compensation for this position is typically $20.19/Hour. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to jobrelated knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
